About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in providing counseling to individual and families, and in providing supervision and consultation to therapists  and counselors. My orientation is  to enhance each person’s ability to resolve issues and concerns independently. I work collaboratively with everyone I see as a partner rather than as a patient. My background is in Solution Focused and Family Systems work. Over time, I’ve become increasingly trauma focused, as I’ve learned that many of my clients must visit and reprocess original traumas before change can take hold.

My areas of specialization include Life Transition work, Developmental and Attachment based trauma, and Shame Resilience and authenticity work. I have been a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator since 2014 and have been an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) trained therapist since 2017.

I earned my master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration in 1990 and am licensed to work independently as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois.
